Application

Purpose

The Amy High Latin Scholarship program is designed to support teachers and students of Latin in their pursuit of the study of the language in Italy. The scholarship was developed in memory of Amy Ann High, teacher of Latin, in order to continue her aspirations to continue her own learning in the land of the Ancient Romans.

Eligibility

Candidates must be current or aspiring teachers of Latin at the pre-K to 12 level. Candidates are eligible for the award only once every five years. Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2008!

Funding

The scholarship is a set amount of $5,000 which must be used for travel, lodging, and tuition in Italy for a period no less than three weeks. Instruction in Latin must be verified for at least fifteen hours per week.

Number of Awards

There will be one award of $5,000 granted for the period June 1 through August 30, providing that a qualified candidate applies.

The Amy High Scholarship Foundation has temporarily suspended the awarding of scholarships due to the extended illness of Father Reginald Foster. There will be no scholarships awarded for summer 2009.  Please check back to this site for information about the scholarship program for summer 2010.
